Coleman Evcon Will Not Ignite

Toro y Moi - Underneath The Pine (Review)

If a bit has been concerned with the Chillwave hype of the last 2 years, the Toro y Moi should already be a household name. For everyone else, a brief summary: the above-mentioned artists are born in 1986 Chazwick Bundick, who published in 2010 are not intoxicating, but still worth listening to Debut "Cause Of This."

At that time a prime example of Chill Wave music, he now breaks new musical paths. Instead of a mixture of timid Dream-Pop, House and Lo-Fi can be found on "Underneath the Pine clear influences of funk, disco and soft rock. This Toro y Moi packaged in classic indie pop, in contrast to the debut tidy and clearly comes along. Born and determines the songs of acoustic guitar, bass, drums loose, analog synthesizers and the quiet voice of Chaz, contributing to music that reminds some of The Whitest Boy Alive.

your strongest moments, the disk when connect the radio or even disco influences most clearly to light, and the listener is about nice, upbeat pop songs like "New Beat" and "Hush Sound" look. Unfortunately, the shine's not often and most other tracks, especially in two things: quiet approach and irrelevance. Surprises can be expected here, only the intro stands still with his sound somewhere between a quiet drone and My Bloody Valentine out. Except for this piece, and a few lines of the aforementioned songs with strong funk influences, there is nothing in your ears, Music to the handset. For the relaxed way the consumption may go still, but otherwise, the music simply leaves no impression.

It has Toro Y Moi finally managed to make music, while not bad, in most cases quite ok, but I personally just do not care.
